About us

KAYUULA

Hi, my name is Kayuula Novalinga. I grew up in Puvirnituq surrounded by professional seamstresses. Not only did they taught me how to sew, but a life lesson. Creating helps me to heal and connect with my Inuit culture. When I sow, I often think about positive thoughts and energy. It helps me to communicate with my creator and my creator delivers my art to the world. I also love throat singing to connect with my ancestors. It’s important to pass down what I was taught by elders to our younger generations.

JULIE-ANN

Heyyyy, my name is Julie-Ann Abevi, I am 18 years old. I am half Togolese and half Canadian Inuk and extremely proud. It is so fun to have ideas and put them to life through cultural art. Beading helps calm me down and each pair I make is made with love and pure intentions. Nothing makes me happier than to make things that makes others feel beautiful and confident.
